Stan's Page
Stan is our school dog. He is a big and beautiful labradoodle. He was born on 22nd December 2018.
Stan is fully trained, both in toileting and interactions with children. He has his own quiet areas in school – he is not running around school. Stan walks around the school on a lead with his owner or a named adult. Children will not walk Stan around school. Named adults pick up his dog poo!
Children do not need to touch Stan or go near him if they don’t want to. Stan will help children who are upset if they want him to; he will listen to children read and play games.
Stan can go into classrooms where there is agreement with the teacher and the children.
Stan will help children understand about being responsible for pets.
Stan is not in school every day. He lives at a teacher’s house when he is not at school.
