Requesting Leave in Term Time5 September 2019 (by admin) |
Dear Parents and Carers We are in the process of up-dating our new attendance policy and will be publishing it shortly.
The children have started school in such a positive way and we are already seeing an impressive reduction in how many children are late to school - so well done!A prompt start to the day is vital for everyone. If you know that you are going to be late can you please telephone the school office and leave a message in the morning before school starts.
We need to let you know of a change in our procedures for requesting leave in term time. As you are already aware, the law states that we are unable to authorise any leave (other than for medical reasons) during term time, unless its circumstances are truly exceptional. In the unlikely event that you need to take your child(ren) out of school for reasons other than medical ones, please arrange to see one of the head teachers to discuss. The office will no longer issue forms for completion and hand in. The headteachers will complete the necessary paperwork with you there and then if they are available, or we will arrange a mutually convenient time, and give you our decision at that point.
Many thanks for your cooperation in this.
