Seely Out of School Club Closure - info and update4 May 2021 (by admin) |
Dear Parents, We have been informed that some people missed the communication from the Seely Out of School Club detailing their closure at the end of May which was issued last week.
We are writing today with an update but just to be absolutely clear, and for those of you who did not see it, the statement which went out from the Headteachers last Friday, 30th April is repeated here and the Seely Out of School Club letter is also attached;
‘Parents who have been using the Seely Out of School Club for childcare have been notified of their decision to close at half term due to financial pressures.
We have been in talks with the club for a few weeks exploring ways of supporting them.
The club is run completely independently to our school, with separate governance and Ofsted registration. We are not in a position to take this over.
We have waivered the last 18 months’ rent that they have been due to pay us as a way of supporting the club financially.
We are looking into other providers taking the club over, so if you know of any company that would be interested, please ask them to contact us; we have the space, the resources, the staff and a full club with waiting list.
In the meantime, please check the OFSTED website for approved and registered childminders in the area. We are planning an event in school to host an introduction to childminding very soon to add to the available list of childminders in the area.
Please support us by asking around.
Finally, we would like to thank the club for the past 18 years of running at the school on behalf of all of the families that have been using it.’
Today, 4th May, we can update and hopefully reassure you that a lot of work is going on this week to ensure we secure a high quality provider as a tenant for our existing Seely Out of School Club premises. To this end we have four meetings arranged in school during the course of this week with potential and experienced providers; two on Wednesday, one on Thursday and one on Friday.
We will be discussing the processes and systems as they operate at the moment and which we value highly, as do our parents as club users. We also have the welfare of the existing staff at heart and a sense of urgency to do everything we can to provide continuity of provision for our working families.
The Seely Out of School Club is an integral and absolutely vital part of life at Seely. We will of course update you as soon as we have held the meetings this week.
Thank you for your continued support.
