Nottingham’s February Light Night transforms the city and brings it to life after dark through illuminations, lazers, music, street theatre and much more.
Seely has been meeting families to look around the city on Light Night since 2009. We have been lucky enough to exhibit our art there since 2013. This will be our NINTH year!
On Friday 5th February 2021, every child in the school will be part of a huge whole school exhibition of colourful lanterns. They will decorate glass jars to make beautiful lanterns using cellophane, tissue, painting pens and glass paint. These will be placed near to the Robin Hood statue and along the foot of the castle wall to create a spectacular installation of colour and light. They will be lit with battery and real tea lights.
Please start collecting glass jars over the holidays in readiness for this. Please soak off the labels so the jar is ready for your child to decorate. We will let you know when to start bringing them into school.
